Portugal face France in Euro 2024 quarterfinal
Friday's clash will be a rematch of the Euro 2016 final
Portugal will be looking to avenge their defeat in the Euro 2016 final when they face France in the quarterfinals of Euro 2024 on Friday.
The two sides played out a thrilling draw in the group stage of Euro 2020, with Portugal eventually winning on penalties. However, France will be confident of victory this time around, having won the World Cup in 2018 and the Nations League in 2021.
One of the key battles in the game will be between Portugal's right-sided rotation and France's defense. Portugal have been very effective in attack down that side, with Diogo Dalot and Bernardo Silva both in excellent form.
However, France have a number of world-class defenders, including Raphael Varane, Presnel Kimpembe and Lucas Hernandez. It will be a fascinating battle to watch.
The winner of the match will face either England or Spain in the semifinals.
