Badgers Ground Attack Powers Team to Victory

Touchdown Run Caps Impressive Drive

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Badgers football team put together a dominant performance on the ground against the Western Michigan Broncos, leading to a decisive victory. Running back Braelon Allen led the charge for the Badgers, rushing for a touchdown to cap off an impressive drive.

Allen's Touchdown Drive

Allen's touchdown run came in the second quarter after the Badgers marched 75 yards down the field in 10 plays. Quarterback Graham Mertz started the drive with a 15-yard pass to wide receiver Chimere Dike. Allen then carried the ball four times for 38 yards, including a 10-yard run that set up his 1-yard touchdown plunge.

Badgers Dominate on the Ground

Overall, the Badgers rushed for 250 yards on 45 carries, averaging 5.6 yards per attempt. Allen led the way with 123 yards on 19 carries, while Chez Mellusi added 71 yards on 12 carries.

Defense Holds Strong

While the Badgers offense was impressive, the defense also played a key role in the victory. The Broncos managed just 218 yards of total offense and were held scoreless in the second half.

With the win, the Badgers improve to 2-0 on the season. They will face the New Mexico State Aggies next Saturday at home before opening Big Ten play at Ohio State on September 24.
