Germany vs Hungary: Hosts looking to bounce back in Euro 2024 opener
Germany will be looking to bounce back from their recent poor form when they take on Hungary in their opening Euro 2024 match on Thursday.
The hosts have won only one of their past six matches played on home soil against Hungary, but they will be confident of getting their campaign off to a winning start against a side they have beaten three times before at major tournaments.
Germany's recent form has been far from impressive, with just one win in their last six matches. However, they will be boosted by the return of several key players, including captain Manuel Neuer and midfielder Toni Kroos.
Hungary, meanwhile, come into the tournament on the back of a four-match winning streak. They will be looking to cause an upset against Germany and get their own Euro 2024 campaign off to a flying start.
The match will be played at the Allianz Arena in Munich and will kick off at 6pm local time (5pm BST). It will be the second Euro 2024 game today, following the earlier match between Spain and Russia.
