NFL Week 2 Injury Report: Cowboys TE room depleted, key Saints defenders questionable

Cowboys TE room depleted

The Dallas Cowboys are heading into Week 2 with a depleted tight end room after Dalton Schultz suffered a PCL injury in the season opener. Schultz is expected to miss multiple weeks, leaving the Cowboys with only Jake Ferguson and Peyton Hendershot at the position.

Ferguson is a rookie who has yet to catch a pass in the NFL, while Hendershot has just one career reception. The Cowboys may need to sign a veteran tight end to provide depth.

Key Saints defenders questionable

The New Orleans Saints have several key defenders who are questionable for Week 2 against the Buccaneers. Safety Tyrann Mathieu (concussion) and cornerback Marshon Lattimore (abdomen) both missed practice on Wednesday.

Mathieu is a three-time Pro Bowler and one of the best safeties in the NFL. Lattimore is a two-time Pro Bowler and one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. If either player is unable to play, it would be a major blow to the Saints' defense.

Other injuries around the NFL

Here are some other injuries around the NFL that could impact Week 2:

  • Buffalo Bills: Quarterback Josh Allen (elbow) is expected to play despite injuring his elbow in the season opener.
  • Cincinnati Bengals: Wide receiver Tee Higgins (ankle) is questionable for Week 2.
  • Green Bay Packers: Wide receiver Allen Lazard (ankle) is questionable for Week 2.
  • Los Angeles Rams: Wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) is expected to play despite injuring his ankle in the season opener.
  • Philadelphia Eagles: Running back Miles Sanders (ankle) is questionable for Week 2.
